Mark is proud to collaborate with RC Advisory Services to assist in selling privately held companies
Mark’s work history began with a “grassroots to NASDAQ” story in which his family’s single auto parts store, Action Auto, in Michigan grew into a publicly traded chain of seventy stores with 1,500 employees and $100 million in revenues. He gained hands-on experience across every aspect of the business, from sales and operations to management.
Mark went on to work at major Detroit and international CPA firms, providing management advisory and tax services and serving as audit manager for large clients, including Ford Motor Company and the US Department of Labor.
As Controller of a Detroit TV station, Mark specialized in media finance and operations and played a key role with Viacom and New York investment bankers in acquisitions of other major-market TV stations. The cumulative value of these transactions exceeded $700 million. Mark later joined KIRO-TV in Seattle, where he improved operations, budgeting, due diligence, business valuation, and internal controls.
Mark was the CFO of Quil Ceda Village and Tulalip Tribal Federal Corporation for almost six years until March 2024. He was responsible for an annual $150 million operating budget and became chief analyst over the business division of Tulalip Tribes, presenting the Board with analysis and due diligence for multimillion-dollar economic development projects.
After decades of financial and operational leadership, Mark founded Financial Horizons, PLLC, a business strategy, valuation, and financial consulting firm serving the greater Seattle area.
Through Financial Horizons, Mark helps business owners build value through organic growth, exit strategies, business valuation, and preparation to market and sell their companies.

"Mark goes far beyond the level of engagement of a typical consultant and participates intellectually and emotionally as a part of our executive team. Trustworthy, knowledgeable, and compassionate, Mark has a sensitivity to business that has helped us keep pace with our loftiest expectations"
"Mark Sabo has defined and instilled accounting processes and business finance strategy for our company for over 5 years that have met both our immediate needs and our long-term growth goals. Most recently, he has helped us identify and collect tax credits for which we were eligible, that without his involvement and expertise we would have not been aware of. Through his work, Mark was able to not only help us uncover and receive a substantial refund, but we now have a more accurate reporting model that is providing long-term savings for the business."
"I have known Mark Sabo for the past 13 years. Mark came to work for my company from 2013 to 2017 at a time when my company was growing rapidly and in need of sound counsel and financial guidance. Mark stepped in as our new CFO / GM and performed as we had hoped. Mark’s vast experience in finance and business operations were certainly instrumental in our companies growth, success and subsequent sale. When an unexpected offer was made to purchase my business, Mark was there for guidance and direction at every step during a very challenging time of discernment. Mark’s ability to provide sound counsel and foresight provided the means for a smooth financial and operational transition of the sale. I would highly recommend Mark Sabo for business financial counsel, coaching and guidance and advice in most any business environment. His expertise is very rare today and would be a benefit to any business."
"Mark is a person of integrity, loyalty and honesty. With Mark’s help the station has been able to reduce expenses dramatically over the past five years, while still maintaining the core elements which have kept KIRO a strong market competitor. In addition, Mark is more than a solid senior finance person; he has consistently demonstrated strong strategic thinking an action that has benefited the entire enterprise. Mark has a strong entrepreneurial background and I’m sure would be a major asset to any company or organization in need of an experienced business professional."
